Vientiane has quite an important Japanese community with many NGO’s and private companies operating here. There is also an ever increasing number of visitors from the land of the rising sun. Despite this, you’ll find only a handful of Japanese restaurants in Vientiane, but all of them have their special charm.

Don’t expect to find the Sushi Bar type of Japanese restaurant here. There are also none of the “show” restaurants like you often find them in Western cities where you sit around a hot plate and a Samurai like cook fiddles around with big knives. But what you’ll find here is the real Japanese cuisine, a little bit like “at home” and from the fact that Vientiane’s Japanese restaurants are very popular with Japanese people you can guess that the food served there is genuine.

If you look for this small Japanese restaurant, don't search a sign with it's name, as there isn't any yet! The owner has just recently found a name...  But the food served here is very nice and genuine, well worth to go and look for this nameless place.
